Allen Fisher’s medical support fundraiser

Allen update: hospice came out today and based on Allens symptoms they unfortunately believe his liver failure is progressing. Allen has been having more frequent dizzy spells/falling episodes, swelling in his legs and feet, losing more weight and appetite.  He has been struggling to sleep at night and doses off throughout the  day and has been weaker. We were able to get one of his teeth taken care of and are working towards the others. This will hopefully help with some weight gain, as he will be better able to eat. Allen was approved for medical cannabis/cbd oil through the state of Iowa, by the original hospice he was signed with. This oil helps his pain tremendously but it is pretty expensive and not covered by insurance. The other supplements and vitamins he takes for kidney function, liver detox, probiotics, digestive aids, protein powder, essential minerals to help with muscle spasms. None of this is covered by insurance or hospice either, because it is considered holistic and life prolonging. I have had to reapply for my unemployment and have not been paid in over a month. Expenses are beginning to pile up with no income coming in. And we are having to go longer periods of time without some of these things. I am still employed and covered by FMLA but unfortunately it is not paid and insurance will only cover a nurse/aid for 1 hour per day for Allen. Allen is not able to cook for himself and has been falling often which poses a danger. I can not fathom leaving him alone for the majority of the day, while trying to focus on work and we unfortunately can not afford to pay for a daily nurse.  I also worry about the kiddos. They have begun to show signs that they are struggling too.
