AllBlackLivesMatter247

Who are we?

We go by the hashtag "AllBlackLivesMatter247" - we believe that it is not only in times of injustice that our hands should be raised. The idea of inequality is something that many of us on a subconscious level can understand and be in tune with. Our mission is to raise awareness of the issues facing "black" people in the UK and to support them in achieving their aspirations.

Who will benefit?

Young people (regardless of sexual orientation or class) who still have a future ahead of them no matter the circumstances they face today. It is really important to remember that young black people could be heterosexual, gay or LGBT or even asexual. This is one of the reasons we use the hashtag above for its' inclusivity.

What the funds will be used for?

1. The money will be used to create awareness in communities around the United Kingdom through on the ground out reach.

2. Create a web presence (Website, blog etc.) to focus on the work that is being done to promote aspiration.

3. Mental health support to those affected by recent events around the death of people of African heritage.

4. Engage in educational projects to improve skills within the community of young black people.

Why is this so important?

Racial inequality and injustice is something we should all be very concerned about in the 21st century - should not be tolerated. "Silence is akin to complicity" - we cannot continue to use the words "it has nothing to do with me". In a society that is unequal, we allow poverty and crime to become the only way out for some young people. The only way to challenge that is to stand up and be counted in fighting for peaceful change of the status quo by supporting their aspirations and giving them hope.

"I watched part of the video with Derek Chauvin kneeling on a black mans neck for almost 9 minutes - it made me physically vomit. It brought up so many memories of different incidents that we have all witnessed. Speaking to young people, they were disturbed mentally by what they saw" - Emanuel Osinowo.

Giving back hope and belief to these young minds will go a long way to restoring their faith in the humanity we claim is for all. Let's help them build a better future.

To all those who wish to support this campaign, we thank you a million times in advance and hope that we can make a difference - no matter how small it is. Thank you all and hope everyone is staying safe.
