Make Bunny's All Ages Record Happen

Hello! Maxwell "Bunny" Butler here. I'm creating something that I've been wanting to do for a long time, what I'm calling an "All Ages" record. This will be a concise anthology of great music from my youth as well as new original material, recreated in a mature and unique way that can be appreciated by both children and adults. Think "Baby Mine" from Dumbo done in the style of Ray Charles, and Raffi's "Bumpin' Up and Down" as a New Orleans R&B romp.
First and foremost, most of the funding for this project will go towards paying a good session rate to the superb, hardworking LA, New York, Boston, and Martha’s Vineyard musicians I'll be hiring. Some of it will go towards procuring gear that I'll need to produce the record myself: a good multi-channel audio interface, and adding a couple microphones to the stable. There is also the matter of gaining the proper licensing that will allow me to distribute this record legally. I'm planning on a digital release on all the major platforms. Depending on how much I raise, I will consider a physical release of it as well.
Work on the record will begin in earnest after the new year. There is no hard deadline, but I'd like to have all tracking/overdubs done before spring, with mixing and production to be completed by summer if not sooner.
It's my hope that this album will inspire and enchant young folks the way I was inspired by this music as a kid, and be something that's shared and enjoyed across generations. I want kids to know that music doesn't have to be totally lame and soulless the way so much "children's" music is, while still being appropriate for young ears. I want this to be a record for all ages, and for the ages.
