Pirchei/Avos Ubanim

Donation protected
For the past 5 years we have been working hard to solidify Avos Ubanim's role as a key Childrens Community Torah Learning Organization.  Motzei shabbos in Rhawnhurst has been infused with Torah from Father and Son learning. With Avos Ubanim comfortably settling in as the largest Motzei Shabbos childrens learning group in our area- the community was ready for growth. Pirchei had long since laid dormant. It has been almost two decades since Pirchei was ran lovingly by Dr. Aryeh Dunoff Z"L and Rabbi Yaakov Selengut. It was time to breathe new life into this once vibrant and energetic program.  Last year we officially brought Pirchei back to NE Philadelphia, and launched a new combined banner encompassing both Pirchei AND Avos Ubanim . Combining these two groups will allow us to use our resources more effectively. As the organizations grow, so do our plans...with our only obstacle being a lack of funds. We have big plans for this season and only with your help can we achieve our goals.
It is one of the crowning glories of Avos Ubanim/Pirchei that our events are open to every boy in the community regardless of school or shul affiliation, and more importantly boys represented from various area schools and shuls consistently attend both programs! Events are also housed in various shuls to allow for all families to feel a vested interest in the programs. Currently, Pirchei runs Shabbos afternoon programs for all boys grades 1-4, Thursday night Cholent & Kugel for boys in grades 5th-8th. We can proudly list our accomplishments over the years; Yeshivas Mordechai Hatzaddik learning (Purim morning), Simchas Torah Pekalach, trips to Lakewoods Matzah Bakery, meeting The Rosh Yeshiva of BMG Rabbi Malkiel Kotler, Boro Park trip to get a brocho from the Novominsker Rebbe,  and seeing a beis medrash that can hold over 2000 men on Shabbos. We have  had an enthusiastic and inspiring Malava Malka with bochurim from Philadelphia Yeshiva, a Chanukah Mesibah and proudly hosted the Rosh Yeshiva Harav Shmuel Kamenetsky to speak to the community. We  brought The Living Torah Museum for 100s of children to enjoy as well as an amazing end of the year banquet with prizes galore and enjoyable, torahdik entertainment. Every year our plans and aspirations grow- and with your help, we can make this year better than ever!
