I have been a singer-songwriter and visual artist since the 1970’s, and have recorded four albums, starting with my album BOO in 1973. I have exhibited my paintings both here and abroad, and continue to perform my music live, both in the UK and beyond.
Two years ago I opened a cache of 8mm film that had been trailing me for most of my life.......................... I saw a world that no longer exists: scenes of a slower, more sedate and uniform Rome, Berlin, Greece, Moscow, the USA, an exotic Istanbul, and Argentina, with my parents, to visit the Bovril estancias, which had been our family business at that time. , Scenes, too, of the King’s Road, Chelsea, plus oddities like the 1967 one-horse Grand National
All this backpacking and family travel coincided with my early songwriting, and we have woven these digitized movies into a narrative of personal and social history, punctuated by music, art and interviews.
We have achieved much in the past two years and wish to complete the film with a filmed concert on 10thFebruary at the www.cinemamuseum.org.uk in London.
Some of my music is available on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon and SoundCloud
I have two informative Facebook pages, @JulietLawsonUK, and All these days documentary, which is relevant to this fundraising. I am also on Instagram
