Sammy's Photo Gear Was Stolen
Donation protected
I've been building a collection of photo gear for the past ten years. Every year that my passion for photography grew, I would find a way to add another tool to my collection. As of this month, I had everything I ever wanted. All the right lenses, a few camera bodies, memory cards, batteries, vintage film cameras and miscellaneous tools of the trade.
On February 15th, all of it was stolen.
I left my house at around noon and by 1:05pm it was gone. The thieves had seen me leave and knew that they had a window of opportunity.
Earlier this week I interviewed with the University of the Arts London. They accepted me into their photography program at the London College of Fashion. I couldn't have been any more excited. I'm finally making a huge push to chase my dreams and moving out of the country, and then this.
I had been stubborn and hadn't purchased renters insurance so I'm completely on my own to recover the losses. I need to build back a small collection of tools to get my photo business back up and running before I start school and I'm not too proud to ask for help.
Goods stolen:
•Canon 5D Mark III ($2,000)
•Canon 5D Mark II ($500)
•Canon battery grips ($400)
•Canon 100mm f/2.8L IS ($800)
•Canon 24-105mm f/4L IS II ($1,000)
•Canon 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II ($1,900)
•Canon 50mm f/1.4 ($400)
•Sigma 35mm f/1.4 ART ($800)
•Sigma 20mm f/1.4 ART ($800)
•Mamiya 7 medium format film camera ($2,000)
•Misc batteries/cords ($200)
•External hard drive ($200)
Total- $11,000
I'll be eternally grateful for anything you're able to contribute. All I want to do is be great and give back to y'all. Thank you so much for your time and god bless.
