Update 11/30:

Our boy is scheduled for surgery on December 6, just one week away! We went to a vet in Lexington today to confirm it is DEFINITELY ACL/CCL tear and they were able to get him on the books a little cheaper, though we are still looking at around $4,000 in total. Say a prayer, send good vibes, share, and donate if you can please. ❤️‍❤️

Side note: Bernie was such a good boy, everyone loved him and I think the vet would have taken him home if he could.

Hello friends. Most of you have heard by now that Bernie tore his ACL on Sunday and will need surgery.

His best chance is a complex repair done by a specialist, and will cost roughly $5,000. Since he is young and otherwise healthy, I’d like to move forward with this treatment plan to give him the best possible future.

Unfortunately, my unemployment just ran out this week. And of course, it’s the holidays (not to mention we have two girls with early January birthdays). That said, I WILL do what I need to in order to get him taken care of. But ANYTHING will help!!!!

I set the goal amount at $1,000 as that is 20% of the procedure cost. It feels like too much to ask, and I’m definitely not expecting anything at all. I know most of us are struggling in this economy and also have holiday spending. A donation of any amount, even just $5, would mean the world to me. And if you can’t, don’t feel bad! Maybe you can share to someone who does have the money to spare?
