Help New Orleans' brightest young musicians attend this summer music program with Grammy nominee, Keith Hart (also known as Mr. Lecour from HBO's TREME).
For years, kids in New Orleans from underserved communities have been transformed, thanks to this music program. For over 20 years, Mr. Hart has been teaching, mentoring and directing music programs in New Orleans.
"All about the Kids Summer Music Program"began as a response to massive funding cuts that make the program impossible without your support.
Sponsor 1 child today for only $266! All donors will be honored at the concert (see below) and Sponsors will have special VIP seating and a meet and greet with the students.
Parents say the camp’s founder, Keith Hart, has blessed their children with confidence, self-esteem, and a path to independence, interdependence and collaborative working. According to one school principle, “Mr. Hart is the most impactful teacher I have ever seen.”
Keith has also helped many of his students get into excellent high schools and colleges, and even get music scholarships. No wonder he was nominated for the Grammy Music Education Award!
But without your help, that’s about to end.
Funding cuts just wiped up the shoestring budget that sustained the summer music programs that have been a way of life in New Orleans for generations.
But the camp is much more than music. Keith teaches his students virtues, healthy habits and life skills.
He teaches them values such as “Each one teach one”, "Effective Effort", and an "Examined Life".
Keith’s former students are living proof this message is being received. Four of them are now interns who volunteer at the program, paying it forward to younger musicians. Now here is the most exciting part.
Here is just one success story of a student in Mr. Hart's program.
One of our students lost his mother at a young age. He was raised by his grandmother, and attended a school in an underserved community.
Now he’s now a senior with a full ride to Julliard, and he’s playing with the best jazz musicians in the United States and all over the world. And this is just one of many success stories.
Your donation will help transform the lives of underserved kids. No donation is too small.
