Community Transition Academy (CTA) and our new adult transition program Community Connection Project (CCP) is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that provides opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities, such as autism, to be included in their communities. CTA's programs live and breathe community inclusion of individuals with different abilities. Our work is critical to providing safe, supported opportunities for our population served and community inclusion education for the community at large.

However, accessing all our community has to offer is challenging for our small nonprofit. We have no direct funding source that covers our community expenses and our program community vans, particularly with the recent cost of living increases. Without donations and fundraising, we cannot sustain keeping our students and program participants out and about in their community, leading by example, what true All Ability Inclusion looks like.

What do we need?

We are raising funds to purchase another community program van and transportation costs (gas, parking, public transportation, etc.) in the new year. We use our community vans EVERY DAY of service, heading out into the community with small peer groups of individuals with communication and behavioral challenges. Having dedicated vans so we can continue to access our favorite integrated educational, vocational training, and recreational venues is critical to have safe and successful inclusive community excursions.
