My name is Alissa, and everyday I battle with Lyme disease. I work as a professional hair stylist. I've missed a lot of work and my social life has became non-existent with the pain I am constantly under. I'm 23 years old and my whole life changed over a bug bite in February of 2014.
My everyday symptoms include joint pain, swelling, inflammation, bone pain, fatigue, muscle weakness, headaches, light headedness, insomnia, exhaustion, anxiety, depression, memory loss and confusion.
The new dr that I'm seeing does not take my insurance but he is the only one who is willing to help and treat me, and officially diagnosed me with Lyme disease. Bottom line is that my journey has just begun and this disease has made a huge impact on my life and the way I live it. I can't afford being sick and all that comes along with it so I'm asking for help!
I owe thousands in medical bills because my insurance only covers so much, I have missed a lot of work throughout the months because it's truly a struggle getting out of bed in the morning. The unpaid medical bills keep piling up from the last year, and any donation will help.
I was admitted in the hospital for 6 days in September getting every test from a spinal tap to bone scans with nothing to show. They told me I was fine and that it was all in my head. I have seen a total of 14 drs and only one has helped me.
I would like to thank everyone for being so supportive and putting up with my constant complaining ( I hold back a lot) .. I have never felt somuch pain in my life.
