WI Childhood Cancer License Plate

Donation protected
On November 29, 2014 our daughter Alison Verhaalen passed away from a brain tumor at the age of 10.  She had a Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG) which is an inoperable and incurable brain tumor found at the base of the brain. Our daughter received treatment at Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in the MACC Fund Center during her fight.

After her passing, we decided to raise funds for other children going through childhood cancer so we selected to raise funds through a “Cure Childhood Cancer License Plate” for the State of Wisconsin.  Annually, $25 from each plate issued will go to cure childhood cancer.  We worked with State Representative Janel Brandtjen and State Senator Duey Stroebel to write Assembly Bill 702, which was signed into law on March 31, 2016.

In order for these license plates to be put into production, we need to raise $10,000, which would cover the fees assessed by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation of $8,300 for data processing system modifications, and $700 for graphic design in addition to the fees charged for processing the payments through GoFundMe.
