Hello, we are Kat & Kerrie.
We are fundraising for our friend Alee, who was diagnosed with Bone Cancer on December 22nd.
On February 15, 2023, Alee will undergo a 7-hour surgery which involves:
- Cutting her humerus in half lengthwise (the half with the erosion will be removed).
- Having a metal plate installed.
- Adding donor bone to go on the other side of the plate.
- Approx. 50% of her triceps muscle will be removed to get the remaining tumour.
- The surgeons will do everything they can to ensure nerves etc. are left intact.
Why are we raising funds?
- Alee will face 8 weeks (possibly more) of recovery & gruelling rehab which will render her unable to work.
- She will be going on short-term disability during this time.
- We are asking for help since both Alee and Zac will be facing pay reductions and time away from work.
It's never easy to ask for help, especially for someone as capable and independent as Alee. So we're doing it for her. Alee & Zac have a lot of friends, family and loved ones that are geographically dispersed, and wish they could be here to help right now. If you want to show your support, this is an amazing way to do it. Help lighten the mental and emotional load for the Haenlin Family. All of the funds raised will be used to help cover:
- Hospital food.
- Hospital parking.
- Pay cuts from work for both Alee & Zac.
- Essential goods like groceries, pharmacy supplies etc.
- Additional care for their daughter Logan (age 2) as required.
- Food and day-to-day meals.
- Gas/mileage between appointments.
