Our adorable daughter Alison was born with hypotonia (low muscle tone) and as a toddler was diagnosed with Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia and Dyscalculia.
She has struggled with learning in school and has had a large amount of behavioral challenges due to her speech and language deficits as well as impulsivity from ADHD.
Alison was recently diagnosed with a life-threatening immune deficiency disease called HLH (Hemophagocytic Lymphohistiocytosis). It took over a month to diagnose her since the symptoms are difficult to assess. She had fever every day, a distended stomach from excess fluid, vomiting, an enlarged liver and spleen etc. She is currently enduring daily blood tests, MRI's, Ultrasounds, CT-scans and more even during treatment.
We would like to raise money to pay for her excessive medical bills as well as raise money for HLH awareness among the general public and physician community. We are planning on donating a portion of proceeds to Cohen's Children's Medical Center/LIJ for clinical trials and research. Only one in 1.2 million people are diagnosed with HLH and the genetic form will make her in need of a bone marrow transplant (we are still waiting for testing results to come back).
