Brazil Missions Trip 2015

Hello All!
As some of you may know in the summer of 2011 I had the chance to go on two missions trips. The first one was in Texas with my youth group. There we worked at a came called the Gospel Ranch, which is a ministry of Gospel Ministries To Children West Texas. These kids aged from 4-14, and they all came from the projects. Little did I know at the time on how God was using these kids to prepare my heart and make it soft and open to what my next missions trip was about to bring. While in Texas, we led a 3 day VBS, there we were all assigned to be a counselor to one or two campers, and we just mentored them, helped them, and just prayed with them for the three days that this camp was going on. One girl who was my camper was only 4 years old. One of the most heart jerking, eye opening moments on that trip, was the last day at the last meal that the camp served. When we were all almost done, her brother walked up to her (with me sitting next to her at the table) and said something that just rocked my selfish pride, self to the ground. He said, "You need to eat as much food as you possibly can, because when we get home, you know mom wont have any for us." I just felt such a burden for these kids. Kids who just happened to be born in the projects of west Texas, who happened to be amazing and totally normal, but kids who really needed Jesus. That trip, God softened my heart, and two weeks later, I found myself on my way to South Indian Lake, Manitoba Canada for a month. There I served with my aunt and uncle who are missionaries to the native Cree people up there. This town has so much crime in it, even to this day. When I first arrived, people were drunk walking all over the streets, very few had jobs, they jsut collected their checks from the government every month, and were so confused when it came to what to believe. My heart was broke, streched, mended, guided, and fed while spending that month up there. I gave my life over to God up there. I was a christian before, but I never acted like it. Growing up, I was the pastor's kid, that was good enough for me. But something clicked while I was up in Canada, and I just repented, and renewed my life with Christ. I had a life change, and people could tell. I bonded with so many amazing people up in South Indian Lake, and I still keep in touch with a few of them today! I still want to go back one summer and do another missions trip, but that is for another year when God feels neccessary. But this year, God gave me a unique opportunity to go with my church to Forteleza, Brazil for two weeks on a missions trip! How amazing is he! Talk about a country that needs to be evangelized! I am so excited for this trip! While in Brazil we will be going into some of the schools and doing a Kids Club for a week. We will also be building, and helping with maintenance on a Retreat Center that a missionary that my church supports ( Al and Nadine Pierschbacher) use for an outreach tool. We will also be playing a lot of soccer (futbol) down there and getting to know some of the people in the church down there. I am super excited and I cant wait to see what all God has instore for this amazing trip! I know He has great plans, and I know He will always provide!
