I apologize for the graphic images in advance, but the severity is no joke!
As you may or may not have known - Our dear friend, sister, cousin, niece, daughter, etc. Alisha was involved in a near death roll over car accident in the early morning on Sunday, June 25th.
She was found on the side of the road calling for help by people who first saw her car completely TOTALED - flipped over. She suffered a concussion & is having a difficult time remembering much about the accident itself.
Post accident - She went to 3 different hospitals in 2 different ambulances because the first hospital couldn't handle how traumatic her injuries were. She was in the hospital for a total of 3 days, & after that she needed an in-home nurse for a month to keep the fake skin that was covering her hand healthy (where the skin had died from getting infected) & to monitor the 4 pins that she had to have placed inside of her hand. She had to wait 2 weeks to get surgery on her wrist because she had to wait for the swelling in her hand to go down. She had to have 4 screws + a metal plate put in her hand since she broke the hook hamate in her wrist (This was AFTER they had to already re-break it) which wasn't healing correctly. These procedures took place at a different hospital since her hand injuries were so crucial she needed certain specialists. (Imagine THAT cost!) After the swelling of that went down she had to have a skin graft done where she was her own donor, so she is also now dealing with that wound to heal. She has already had to pay an absurd amount out of pocket for medication & still has months to wait until the bones in her hand are finally healed. She is also currently unsure of how long she is going to be needing physical therapy to regain the motion back in her hand, but is thinking months with how severe the injuries were.
Along with all of the surgery/physical therapy costs, she has had to pay for the anesthesiologists ($2,000 each time) & the ambulance rides (another $2,000 each time).
Alisha works as a server & so as you can imagine, she has been out of work & will be unfortunately missing the next upcoming semesters of school that she herself was funding.
*Alisha is being completely positive & HUMBLE about the entire ordeal & has no idea that I've set this up for her. (If you know her at all, you know that she is very independent, prideful & strong-minded. Reason being why I am creating this a month after the fact)
This could happen to ANY one, ANY day - in a matter of seconds it could be you or one of your close loved ones having their whole lives do a total turn around. Alisha is a genuinely good, caring person & I just know that if it were to be anybody else in this physically, mentally, & emotionally draining situation - she would be at your aid! She deserves to focus on HEALING & not worry about the burden of costs. Any donation is a BLESSING & you are thanked immensely!!!!
