Lord knows we've all been affected by the recent closure of restaurants due to COVID-19 and our wonderful, amazing, loving, and downright bada** staff at both Alimento and Cosa Buona have been hit especially hard. We have kept as many of them on payroll as we can possibly afford, but the fact is that the majority of our employees have had no income since March 16th, with weeks or months of the same potentially ahead.
We have been working around the clock to urge our government to act on behalf of our employees, and we will continue to do so. But we also wanted to give you the public the opportunity to help them out if so inclined. We know it's a business's responsibility to pay its people, and we don't underestimate the ask here. But these are unprecedented times and we'll do anything to help out our staff.
A lot of people will be impacted by this pandemic, and we know restaurants aren't the only ones struggling. But if you happen to work in an industry less affected by the crisis (we're looking at you, grocery store owners) and if you've loved a meal you've had at either of our restaurants, please consider making a donation of any size.
100% of donations will be split equally among our staff and in NO WAY will go towards the restaurants.
BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE!
For any donation of $100 or more, we'll send you a $20 gift card to the restaurant of your choosing. So that when all this BS is behind us, you can come dine with us and be served by those you helped to support in this time of need. (Please make sure you send us your e-mail address.)
We look forward to being able to host you all soon. In the meantime, please feel free to hit up your local representatives to implore their immediate action for relief for small businesses, especially restaurants. It is the only way we can weather this storm.
