Alicia’s second chance

Hello my name is Alicia, I am 24 years of age ever since I can remember I have struggled with my mental health & my weight. After being diagnosed with Trochanteric Bursitis when I was 17 it has made loosing weight impossible. As this diagnosis results in my chronic pain getting  worse when I am standing, walking or running. I have literally tried absolutely everything to decrease my pain from my diagnosis including Cortizone injections, numerous Physio appointment’s & countless Dietitians but unfortunately have had no success.

I have tried everything physically possible to improve my mental health & weight but unfortunately I have seen no results so I am left with one option which is weight loss surgery also known as a Gastric Sleeve Surgery.

Unfortunately with the pain from my diagnosis I am completely unable to work which results in me having no funds & the endless amounts of money my family have had to come up with & spend on countless different things that haven’t worked has left us with completely no funds to afford the surgery.

I have considered the public health system but have been told it is up to a 4 year waiting list & that does not guarantee you get the surgery & unfortunately my mental health & physically health can not hold out for that long. So I have decided to do a go fund me page as I am only 24 years young & if I was lucky enough to have this surgery done I know for a fact it would dramatically change my mental health, physically health & my future.

I feel as though I am still so young & have my whole life ahead of me but feel as though this diagnosis has stolen the quality of my life from me.
