Help my Mommy fight cancer!

Donation protected

Hello, I am an eighteen month old little boy who has been blessed with the most amazing Mommy in the world. Recently my Mommy (age 24) was diagnosed with an extremely rare and aggressive form of cancer. Only a few months since the first onset of symptoms the cancer has already been classified as "Stage 4." The cancer is so rare doctors cannot definitively identify exactly what it is and have, by default, labeled it a "Poorly Differentiated Carcinoma." The cancer, which began in the sinuses, has already completely destroyed the sinus (leaving her without the sense of smell) and has further metastasized to her left eye and to her lungs. Since the cancer has already begun attacking the lungs surgery is not possible, leaving extensive chemotherapy as the only option. This cancer is terminal, within 3-4 months, if not treated immediately. At this point doctors cannot even estimate how effective treatment might be or provide any survival statistics because they have no data upon which to base a medical opinion.

The initial diagnosis was a form of Squamous cell cancer of the sinuses. The next steps were to determine which treatments would best help eliminate the cancer and promptly start the process. The first step was to go forth with a surgery that would consist of removing her entire left orbit (eye & everything with it), cheekbone, and forehead. Then would have come radiation and chemotherapy. If and when the cancer was successfully treated, the reconstructive phase would have begun. A successive battery of scans and blood pathology detected the cancer in the lungs also, eliminating the possibility for this surgery as a treatment option. Should chemo prove successful in removing the cancer in her lungs, the surgery might be possible in the future.

As you can see, this will be a long, difficult, and costly journey. Any donations and words of encouragement would be greatly appreciated. I want the chance to have my Mommy be the Mommy I need her to be, and I know she wants the chance to watch me grow into the man she will inspire me to be. We still have a lot of memories to make together.

Every dollar counts and any donation helps. Please spread the word and join us in conquering this battle!
