I’m Alicia. I am the owner of Chrome Artistic Barbering in St. Catharines, Ontario. You might know me as the “Barbershop Owner who found a Loophole” from reports in the mainstream media. I am a mother, a daughter, a friend, and a patriot who found a way to survive as a proud small business owner during the “declared pandemic”.
When Ontario went into lockdown, barbershops and hair salons were forced to shut down. Film companies were allowed to continue operating, so I decided to convert my barbershop into a film production studio. This rubbed some people the wrong way. I became the victim of a witch-hunt instigated in the media by unscrupulous reporters who published misleading and false statements about myself and my business.
Most outrageously, I was accused by reporter Grant LaFleche of calling for the “murder and beheading” of the Niagara Region chief medical officer. These allegations against me are utterly and entirely untrue. They are falsehoods fabricated by the media to whip up controversy. Unfortunately, fake news often has very real consequences. The impact on my family, on my emotional well-being and on my business has been devastating.
False/defamatory reports about me were widely published in print, on-line, and on social media. Public officials, including local politicians, Premier Doug Ford and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, shared those reports. As a result of this false reporting, I have been on the receiving end of bullying, insults, harassment, and other unwanted negative attention. I have received death threats. My home address was doxxed. A woman left a voicemail saying that I “should be beheaded”. There were threats to burn down my business. My life was turned upside down.
Please help me raise the funds required to sue the media organizations and reporters who have defamed me. I am not going to let them destroy my life and get away with their slander.
