Alicia, Andrew and Leon's fire

My daughter, her boyfriend and his 4 year old son live in a duplex, the other half occupied by a friend of ours named Martin.
Yesterday morning while my daughter and hey boyfriend were asleep, a fire broke out in their side of the duplex. His 4 year old son saw the fire and woke them up, getting them out of the house quickly and safely. No shoes, no personal belongings, just out.
Within a minute or two of making it outside their entire place was engulfed in flames. They didn't have renters insurance and lost literally everything they owned.
Thankfully the other half wasn't severely damaged but it's looking like the occupants from both sides will be displaced.
We've been assisted by the Salvation Army and they continue to stay in touch and help as much as they can.
It's difficult to ask people for assistance, and we've been overwhelmed with messages, phone calls, and offerings of help and donations, that we decide that this is probably the best and easiest way for people to lend a hand if they choose to.
They are taken care of for short term, but will very soon need to replace everything they had. Furniture, appliances, computers, clothing, food, etc.
We tried to make a list last night and give it a monetary value, but honestly it's hard to do and some things you simply can't put a price on. We estimated it as closely as we could, but don't expect to reach the full amount. Some of these items I'm sure we'll come across by donation or well priced used.
Powell River is an exceptional town. We can't put into words our appreciation for all the support that everyone has given us so far.
We would like to use a portion of this to help Martin get into a new place as well. After all, we are a close community and one big family.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

They have all received an amazing amount of support from friends, family and the community as a whole, and have found themselves back on their feet with all they need.
They are at a loss of words to properly express their gratitude, but the memory of this will no doubt stay with them forever.
