<div><span>Hi everyone! My name is Alice Covello, and I’m a 25-year-old student filmmaker from Sacramento, CA. My short film “Regional Treasures / Digging For Freedom” was recently selected by the A Place Called Sacramento Film Festival, a nonprofit that gives local writers and creators the opportunity to bring their scripts to life on the big screen. Out of many submissions, only a handful of scripts are chosen each year after a rigorous review process — and we are honored to be one of them!</span><br />

<div>Our film is a 10-minute adventure comedy filled with heart, humor, and a deep love for Sacramento. It follows a quirky grandfather, his granddaughter, and a fabulous drag queen as they embark on a wild treasure hunt through the city. Along the way, they discover that the real treasure is a sense of love, community, and belonging. We’ll be highlighting iconic local spots like the Oak Park Farmers Market, McKinley Park, and the Sacramento Airport — and giving a special shoutout to our beloved Sacramento Kings!

<div>This is a father-daughter passion project: I’m working alongside my dad, a local actor, to make this dream a reality. As a student and member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I’m committed to creating a film that reflects Sacramento’s vibrant, diverse spirit. Our cast and crew are proudly inclusive, and we want to uplift local talent and voices through every scene.

<div>Unfortunately, we have no formal funding partners — just our hearts, our hustle, and our community. We’ve already gone out of pocket to secure a business license and begin the city permitting process, but we need your help to go further. Your donation will go toward:
