There are many terrorist acts that go unnoticed in Pakistan. I believe that where you live should not determine WHETHER you live. Asi Ali Hassan Solangi was kidnapped from a mosque after praying Magrib namaz in Pakistan. He was targeted because he was a former police officer- specifically, he was after kidnappers like them, and people who ask for ransom. This abuse to Ali was an act out of hatred and revenge. Above you can see the picture of him before this incident next to what is left of him now. They cut off both hands, shot both of his legs, and poured acid into his eyes. He is now blind, and cannot see or hear or walk. Ali received surgery for his infections, but does not have the money to keep up ongoing surgeries, nor does he have the money to live comfortably by any means (clothes, a soft bed, proper medicines.) His wounds are so fresh they have not healed, and he is constantly living in pain. He has young children, brothers and a sister, and parents who depended on him for their own care. Without him, they are also suffering.
I believe that there is no greater evil than physical pain- without the proper funds to help, he will have to wake up every morning and not only feel pain physically, but suffer mentally. We live in America. God has given us safe lives away from terrorism, so it is our job to give back.
Ali Hassan is close to my parents and friend Shahneela- my mother and father grew up near him in Karachi, Pakistan. Shahneela stays in contact with him and periodically send him money as she can, but it is not enough. All funds will be sent to my personal bank account, and I will be directly sending the cash to him using Western Union. I would like to raise enough money to help pay for his surgeries. Even if you have just one dollar to give to me, it would mean the world. Ali was a very honest police man that will never live the same- please remember that you yourself will be blessed as you give to others. No one ever becomes poor from giving.
