<div>En el 2022, fui diagnosticada con Cáncer de mamá triple negativo etapa II, enfrenté mi enfermedad con un sin número de emociones y siempre acompañada de los cuidados de mi esposo. Después de una cirugía, un catéter puerto, 16 quimioterapia (rojas y blancas) y 31 radiaciones, el cáncer se fue. Comencé a reconstruir mi nueva yo.

<div>En 2023 le toca a mi esposo enfrentar una situación similar, una crisis de divertículos se complica derivando una cirugía de emergencia por peritonitis con choque séptico y cuatro días en terapia intensiva, se recupera. Debido a esto le detectan afortunadamente a tiempo un tumor canceroso en colon que es operado . Derivado de esto desarrolla una hernia que está esperando a ser operada, ya que fueron dos cirugías mayores en muy poco tiempo.

<div>En 2025 me detectan otro cáncer ahora en el ovario izquierdo llamado seroso epitelial peritoneal etapa III. ¡Un reto de salud más! He comenzado con ciclos de quimioterapias cada 21 días, y una vez concluidos me operaré: histerectomia. Continuaré con medicamentos el resto de mi vida, para evitar que el cáncer vuelva.

<div>Si bien, contamos con la fortuna de ser un gran equipo mi esposo y yo, nos cuidamos, tenemos trabajo y seguro médico, este no cubre gastos como: estudios ($1500) , citas medicas ($1500), medicamentos ($2590) algunos solo por reembolso o traslados ($280), gasolina ($500), comida especial ($3000), suplementos ($1850) , terapias ($1700), etc.

<div><em>Hi, my name is Alheli Rodríguez Hernández. I am a friend, teacher, consultant, daughter, sister, runner, traveler, niece, cousin, writer, neighbor, wife, mother, and more; I'm just like you, and I want to share my story:</em>

<div><em>Back In 2022, I was diagnosed with stage II triple-negative breast cancer. I faced my illness filled with mixed  emotions but always supported by my husband's care. After two surgeries, a catheter port, 16 chemotherapy sessions (both red and white), and 31 radiations, the cancer supposedly was gone and  I began to rebuild my life.</em>
</div>
<div><em>In 2023, my husband faced a similar situation. A diverticulitis crisis became complicated, leading to an emergency peritonitis surgery  incurring in a  septic shock which leads him to  ICU  for four days in. He recovered. During a follow up, a cancerous tumor in his colon was detected fortunately in an early stage and it has to be surgically removed. As a result, he developed a hernia which is still pending for surgery.</em>

<div><em>In 2025, after a follow up study (PET) I was diagnosed with another type of cancer, this time in my left ovary, called “Serous epithelial peritoneal cancer”  stage III. Another health challenge! I faced a new surgery and now I've started chemotherapy cycles again, once every 21 days; and as son as they're finished, I'll have a hysterectomy to avoid recurrence. I'll continue under medication for the rest of my life to prevent the cancer from returning.</em>
</div>
<div><em>Even when my husband and I are fortunate to be a great team, taking care of each other, and oth having jobs and health insurance, it doesn't cover expenses like: lab tests ($1500), doctor's appointments ($1500), speciality medications ($2590); some of them are only covered by reimbursement;  transportation fees ($280), gas ($500), special food ($3000), supplements ($1850), therapies ($1700), etc.</em>
</div>
<div><em>That's why I'm asking for your support to reach the fundraising goal which will allow us to cover these expenses and manage current and further treatments.</em>
</div>
<div><em>I want a life that allows me to see grow up my 9-year-old daughter and enjoy being her mom.</em>
