Vet Fund

Want to join us in making a difference? Project Galgo are raising funds in order to help some of the dogs in our care who are needing vet treatment, and any donation will help make an impact.

 

We have recently received some very sad news that beautiful Loma is suffering from kidney disease and will require ongoing treatment. This darling girl was so badly let down by humans and so neglected for many years and again with someone who was supposed to be caring for her. She has been so unwell but we are all very hopeful she can recover. The vet bills are mounting to over £3k now and the ongoing treatment for her kidneys will come at a cost, but she is so worth every penny.

 

Dear little Alfonso a.k.a The Fonze unfortunately injured his tail and had to have some of it removed which was a big shame as he so loves to wag his tail, but he has received the surgery and is healing well, which is fantastic. And he still has some of his tail to wag.

 

Adan has some paw problems which are causing him pain so we will be having those investigated.

 

Kailey also needs a cough investigating and Darcy has been feeling a bit off colour too.

 

Sadly these dogs have known so much neglect and it is no wonder they have injuries and issues which need tending to. Neglect takes a serious toll on their bodies and minds - healing can take time. And yet they are so forgiving.

They don't ask for much... love and kindness. 

 

We are a not-for-profit registered charity and our mission is

"To promote humane behaviour towards animals by providing appropriate care, protection, treatment and security for animals, in particular but not limited to Galgos, Podencos and other Sighthounds, which are in need of care and attention by reason of sickness, maltreatment, poor circumstances or ill usage and to educate the public in matters pertaining to animal welfare in general and the prevention of cruelty and suffering among animals."

 

We know times are so hard for so many people now - cost of living is increasing in just about every possible way and we are sorry to have to ask but if you have anything to spare at all - even a pound, or a few (the price of a Starbucks or a glass of wine), or or if you can't donate, we would be so grateful for you to share this fundraiser.
