Al-Faten Minter transitioned on Sunday October 22, 2017 with great shock and unexpectancy to her family. Being a community advocate, dedicated socially and spiritually to her community, working with children, volunteering hours and days to individuals and families, teaching Health and Wellness and advocating Self-Esteem,  involved deeply with friends often in charitable and financial supportive, Al-Faten Minter has been a "presence" in the lives of many.

Al-Faten Yasmeen Minter, opened her eyes on March 8, 1973 to the parents of Ali K. Muslim (Charles Sharp) and Hamidah Jacobs (Yvonne Minter) at Beth Israel Hospital Newark NJ. Named in inspiration of "intelligence", "sagaciousness", and "deep insight", it was also within the name that "charming" and "flower" that her name became Al-Faten's core character. The first girl born to both Ali and Hamidah, Al-Faten Minter was their darling and was given much love and guidance. Growing up within an Islamic home, Al-Faten learned the values of Womanhood as well as family.

Al-Faten Minter graduated  and attended The Newark High School of the Performance Arts or Arts High School transferred to Weequahic High School where she graduated in 1991. After graduation, she entered into William Paterson where she majored in Communications and Business. Leaving William Patterson, Al-Faten decided that starting her own business was more advantageous and attainable than working for a corporation. Working in Banking, Public Relations, Marketing, Event and Party Planning for experience, Al-Faten eventually took time off to enter into Cosmetology School to solidify a foundation for Health and Beauty. She became a beautician and built a large list of clients. She became a Fashion Consultant, Lifestyle Coach, Party Planner, Event and Exhibition Planner and eventually started her own business entitled, Diamond Styles. A self-made success, Al-Faten expanded into the Newark and Greater Newark communities and made a name for herself as both Professional and Volunteer business consultant, often working with girls, young Women and older Women needing support in Self-Esteem and confidence building. Al-Faten had connected and worked both with and in associations of non-Profits for the State of New Jersey, Christian and Islamic groups, Politicians, Celebrities within the Music, Fashion, Television industries and often came back home to work with the Homeless and under-employed. A giving person, sometime to a fault, she has always looked out for people in need.

Al-Faten established a Health and Beauty Spa in downtown Union NJ which flourished for several years and with its eventual closing, she switched her focus to pursue a career in Holistic Medicine and Consulting. Completing several certifications, Al-Faten was currently planning to build her own Health Clinic dedicated to helping Black men and Women in the Art of Clean Living.

The Family of Al-Faten Minter has created this GoFundMe page for donations in the planning of Funeral Services and Scholarship for her. Please find it within your Spirit  to help her family in this great time of loss.
