Alex's Medical Brigade to Nicaragua

As many of you may know, I recently graduated from SMU with a BA in Psychology and a BS in Health & Society. This Anthropology-based degree focuses on viewing health care from different cultural perspectives, which is a crucial building block on my path to becoming a doctor.
This upcoming August, I plan to travel to Nicaragua on a Global Medical Brigade with the SMU Brigade chapter. Here, I will have the opportunity to make a real impact and gain valuable experience by working with doctors and pharmacists through taking vital signs and assessing symptoms of ill pateints, collecting medical records, consulting with patients, and interacting with children and adults.
As an individual member, I need to fundraise $1,500 in order to go on the brigade. I ask for any assistance you are willing to give for this special cause. Every penny makes a difference, and I will be forever grateful for your help.
