Alex's family matters!

As many of you know, I am not one to ask for help, but desperate times call for desperate measures. Recently, my husband Alex Camaj(you might know him as Gego) was taken into custody by ICE ( Immigration & Customs Enforcement) in Michigan. He is being held at the St Clair County Jail awaiting trial. He recently attempted to apply for citizenship on an expired green card and in the process ICE agents picked him up and detained him. They are trying to deport him back to Yugoslavia where he was born. He came to the United States when he was 5 years old and has been here ever since. He does not know his country nor does he remember anything about it. He only knows our country. I am a Chaldean Christian born in Iraq, but became a United States citizen in 1994. My heart goes out to all my fellow Chaldean Christian families that recently have been affected by ICE raids in Michigan. I am truly sorry for the pain that you are going through, I honestly know how you feel because I am experiencing the same pain. Alex has been detained by ICE since April 24th 2017. As most of you know, my husband is the sole provider for our family. As a full-time wife and mother to 3 boys, I have not worked in years but I am in the process of looking for a full-time job so I am able to pay some bills. In the meantime, we have 3 boys ( ages 11, 8, 5) that are depending on me to take care of them and I am struggling to make ends meet right now. We have borrowed money to pay for his legal fees but his lawyer has already asked for more money that we don't have. I am struggling trying to get funds together for his lawyer while also trying to keep a roof over our heads. Without these funds, he will stop representing him and at that point I am not sure what will happen, possibly deportation. I am asking and pleading for all our family and friends to consider helping us to try to keep him here in the U.S. for the sake of our kids that desperately need their father. I have attempted to apply for all the assistance that I can get from the state and all that I am able to get is a small amount of assistance for food. I just need to get through the next couple of months until hopefully he gets out and then he will be able to start working again to support our family. Alex’s court hearing is scheduled for August 2nd 2017. As long as Alex is in there, he cannot work and take care of his family. I am praying that he will win the case and be released, I have faith in GOD that everything will be ok. Please consider helping us out if you can. Every little bit helps, and adds up. Thank you in advance. I appreciate you taking the time to read my story. God bless you all for everything that you can do and if you can’t, I totally understand your circumstance. Please share this if you can, I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again from the bottom of my heart.
Love you all The Camaj Family!
