Alex's Motorcycle Recovery
Donation protected
On June 23rd, 2017 Alex was in a motorcycle accident at Portland International Raceway during a practice run.
He sustained several injuries including broken bones, fractures on his skull and road rash. He has been at Legacy Emanuel Hospital in Portland in ICU since then.
Alex is making progress but has a long road ahead of him. Any prayers or donations on his behalf would be greatly appreciated. We will keep you updated on his progress below.
His progress:
June 24th- His blood pressure and fever are under control. The bleeding in his brain subsided and his cranial pressure is stable. His CT scan results were good.
June 26th- They took out the cranial monitor and Alex had an MRI.
June 27th- The results of the MRI from Dr. Grewe (neurologist:) Alex has injury to his brain stem. However, he feels he will recover and be able to live a fairly normal life given time.
June 29th- They did a scope and found Alex had pneumonia. They have him medicine to combat the illness.
July 2nd- They gave Alex a tracheotomy to try to help him be more comfortable. They have him taking deep breaths to help heal his injuries and combat the pneumonia.
June 7th- Alex is off the respirator and breathing on his own. He is still not awake.
More updates to come.
We are grateful for the prayers, cards, gifts and messages we've received on Alex's behalf. Your support, love and kindness is astounding.
