MY MOM´S BATTLE AGAINST CANCER:
My battle against Cancer began in 2015 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer.
It was an unwelcomed surprise for me, nobody ever imagines that they will have to go through something like this. Only hearing the word " cancer" is terrifying, however, I have always been known for my positive attitude and I would not allow fear to take over.
With the help of my family I have managed to go through my operation and to receive the necessary treatment. Although it was not easy, this experience has put me in contact with many wonderful people, their help, company and support got me through this.
I thought I had won the battle.
Unfortunately, the cancer has reappeared and I have had a second operation, and radiotherapy . Giving up is not an option, I am a firm believer that this cancer will not be the end of me, but the concern of not being able to acquire the necessary medications for my final treatment may very well be.
Due to the political and economic situation of my country (Venezuela) I am not able to obtain here the medicines I need for the final stage of my treatment.
To bring them from another country is extremely expensive, not only because of their price but also for the high value of the dollar compared to our country's currency. This is the mayor obstacle for me to be able to finish my treatment and begin my recovery, I will not give up. Now more than ever I have the desire to continue fighting for my future with my children and family.

“LA LUCHA DE MI MAMÁ CONTRA EL CÁNCER”:
Mi lucha contra el cáncer comenzó en el 2015 cuando fui diagnosticada con cáncer de seno. Fue una sorpresa para mí porque nadie nunca imagina pasar por algo así. Escuchar la palabra “cáncer” es realmente aterrador, sin embargo, siempre me he caracterizado por tener una actitud positiva hacia la vida y no iba a permitir que el miedo se apoderara de mí. Con la ayuda de mi familia logré operarme y recibir el tratamiento necesario. Aunque no ha sido fácil, esta experiencia me ha puesto en el camino a personas maravillosas, que con su ayuda, compañía, y apoyo, han logrado hacer esta lucha más llevadera.
Desafortunadamente, el cáncer reapareció y tuve que operarme una segunda vez y someterme a radioterapia. Rendirme nunca ha sido una opción y siempre he pensado que este cáncer no me va a matar a mí, pero si la angustia de no conseguir los medicamentos necesarios. La etapa final del proceso requiere de quimioterapia nuevamente, sin embargo, debido a la situación político económica del país, no se consiguen los medicamentos que requiero. Traerlos de afuera es extremadamente costoso, tanto por su precio, como por el elevado valor del dólar. Este es uno de los mayores obstáculos en mi proceso de recuperación y no pienso darme por vencida. Ahora más que nunca tengo ganas de seguir luchando por mi futuro junto a mis hijos y mi familia.
