Alexander's Heart survival to Transplant

The loss of a child is a pain I'm certain we would all wish not a soul to bare. On the 3rd of August 2018 Elizabeth and Nickolas lost a son, little Romeo lost a brother and family and friends lost a much loved little boy. His name was Elias.
Elias was born with dilated Cardiomyopathy Barth Syndrome a heart condition where the heart is not able to pump enough blood supply around the body. Due to Elias developing an infection and treatment not working in Sydney Elias was flown to Melbourne where he was put on a Burlin Heart to await a heart transplant. Elias did not make the wait due to blood clot causing serious brain damage Elias sadly passed at the age of only 8 months old.
On the 26th of August 2019 Elizabeth and Nickolas were blessed with a baby boy and Romeo with a baby brother. His name is Alexander
With the joy of a new pregnancy after such sadness there was concern. Elizabeth and Nickolas were told there was a 1% chance that there baby would be born with the same condition as Elias. It's with a very sad heart that I have to inform that Alexander was born with dilated Cardiomyopathy Barth Syndrome, the same condition that took his big brother.
Alexander's fight is not over. He is currently in Westmead children’s hospital Sydney under intensive care and after developing an infection he has been put into an induced coma. It has been decided that he will be transferred to Melbourne royal children’s hospital to be put on a Burlin heart while he waits for a heart transplant
Whilst family and friends can help with emotional support we really need to help ease the financial pressure as this beautiful family once again goes through what most of us couldn't even imagine.
