Alexa Morales is a graduate from St. Paul the Apostle School in Richardson,Texas, Class of 2009. She graduated from Hillcrest High School, Dallas, Texas, Class of 2013. Alexa works for a great company, IHeart Media.

In mid February Alexa was having pain in her stomach. We at first thought she might have pulled a muscle but later her weight gain was significant. She wasn't able to wear jeans that she had worn two days prior.

She made an appointment with her gynecologist to have a sonogram. Instantly we knew something was wrong. The mass we saw was huge. She was sent to a specialist, Dr. Richardson, UT SouthWestern. That day we were told that we had to treat this aggressively, that surgery was imminent. After having a CT scan it was confirmed the importance of surgery. Alexa had a 25cm mass attached to her right ovary. Possibly a mass attached to her left. We wouldn't know till the day of surgery. The 25cm mass was removed on April 3rd., along with her ovary and a mass on her right fallopian tube and a mass on her left ovary. With the excellent work of Dr. Richardson and team, God and St. Gemma, I like to believe that our family who are in heaven helped, Alexa's left ovary was saved.

We thought great she will heal, 6 weeks and get back to work. That didn't happen. You have the air knocked out once, you can't possibly have air to be knocked out again. As we were shopping at Target getting my three girls ready for my first cousin's wedding. Alexa received a call with her results of the mass...cancer. We need you to come in to discuss further. If it wasn't for Alexa's strength I would have been on the ground.

We sat in the Doctor's office crying (again) we only heard a few words....cancer, chemo, port. There we were the next day, Friday, in the operating room getting Alexa prepped to have a port placed in her chest because Monday Superhero Camp (chemo) would start for three cycles of One full week of chemo, Monday thru Friday and two Mondays the following two weeks, then repeat two more cycles.

Alexa hasn't been paid because she has only been with her company a year. We are thankful for FMLA. My family has been helping her as much as they can. Before all this she was in a car accident that totaled her car. She bought a new/used car. So she has been stressing about finances.

Yesterday at her check up because she had to go to the ER and she doesn't eat because she can not keep anything down, during her full week of chemo. Alexa will be admitted to the hospital on Monday June 5th. She becomes too dehydrated and nauseous. We all feel that the hospital is the best place for her last full week. Her potassium and platelets have been low and will most likely drop during next week's chemo. Plus she scared us with her dizziness and seeing black.

With all this information said. We are needing help. I am embarrassed to ask but I will do anything for my children. So if you could help, we would appreciate it from the bottom of our hearts. God has taken care of us this far and we are truly lucky. I know God will take of us now and forever. Thank you for your prayers and support. This has been an emotional journey but it has brought us closer and stronger.
May God Bless us All!!!
