Alex Tirpaks car accident

As many of you may know, my cousin Alex was in a terrible car accident Christmas Day. The only details on the crash we have received is that is was a head on collision. The doctor said that his seatbelt without a doubt saved his life. While he is now stable and responsive, he remains confused. He has suffered a fractured C2 vertebrae as well as a basal skull fracture. In addition to those head injuries, he has also suffered a diffuse axional injury (DAI), and the DAI injury has us the most concerned. We are hoping for the best at this point. We will not know any more until the morning and after he receives a consult with neurology. By far, this has been one of the worst days of our lives for our family. Please keep praying for him, and if you want to visit, he is at Forbes hospital for now.

We’ve run into the issue that Alex’s health insurance does not kick in until January, as of right now he does not have any health insurance. The family has MORE than enough stress already as it is and money issues for hospital bills is the last thing they need to be worrying about.

For those of you that know Alex, know he is the most kind hearted hearted person and is always smiling. Right now the most important thing they need to worry about is him healing and recovering and going home as soon as possible.
