Alex, as so many of you know, was celebrating her grade 12 graduation in Cuba with her many friends and classmates. The unimaginable happened, and her life was lost at 18 years old.
To know Alex was to love her. She was bright and beautiful. She radiated joy and love. She was kind and caring and responsible. She was a daughter, a sister, a granddaughter, a cousin, a niece, a friend, a girlfriend, a co-worker, a teammate..... and to some, the relationship she had with them doesn't comform to only one of those labels, because she filled many of those roles. She was good. Through and through. Right down to the tips of her toes her soul was GOOD. Her soul continues to be good.
Her family, friends and all who loved her are awaiting her arrival home. Many people have expressed a desire to help, to be able to do something- anything really; so here is an opportunity if you so wish and are able.
Funds raised will support the family with any expenses incurred as a result of this tragedy that insurance doesn't cover. Following that, if funds remain, the family will explore other opportunities to support Alex's community, either through bursaries, programs or services.
We welcome you to contribute, as much or as little as you can. Thank you!!
