The Hurricane passed directly over his home town of Hatillo as it exited the island. Much of his family still resides in this devastated town as well as the near by town of Arecibo.
As of the 22nd of September Alex has yet to hear from any members of his family, but has been fortunate enough to see images that have made him hopeful. He's been fortunate enough to find images of his brothers car dealership as his brother appears to be leaving the dealership after possibly surveying damage. Giving hope that he and hopefully the rest of his family are okay.
Please take moment to sit with that thought. The only hope that your family is alive is given to you by a photo of a single family member you happen to see on social media images. Not being able to contact anyone even with the seeminly multiple ways to communicate.
It shouldnt surprise anyone that it is Alex's first thought to help in any way possible. Not only is he concerned for his family but the entire community where he grew up.
Alex plans to fly to his home town as soon as the flights are available. He plans to not only make sure his family is ok, and his grandmother who needs oxygen assistance, but also help with clean up and rebuilding of the community where he was raised. Clearly Peurto Rico is in distress, and more dear to our hearts is our great friend Alex and his family.
Please consider a donation to help not only Alex, but his family and thier community.
