Alena Boggs' Support & Recovery Fund

We have made this fund for Alena in hopes to make a contribution towards her journey with triple negative breast cancer. The goal of this fundraiser is to alleviate some of the financial burden this illness has imposed.

In August of 2023 Alena was diagnosed with stage 3, triple negative, breast cancer. Alena is so much more than this disease and we are thankful for your generosity to support her through this difficult season. She appreciates each of you for standing beside her!

Alena’s current treatment plan will take place 1-4x a week for the next year. In addition to your generosity, please lift Alena and her family thoughts and in prayer.

Information on Alena's type of cancer:

Triple-negative breast cancer is invasive breast cancer that is:

-estrogen receptor-negative

-progesterone receptor-negative

-HER2-negative.

The cells in triple-negative breast cancer don’t have receptors for the hormones estrogen or progesterone and don’t make too much of the HER2 protein. So triple-negative breast cancers don’t respond to hormonal therapy medicines or the medicines that target the HER2 protein. According to the American Cancer Society, triple-negative breast cancer represents 10% of breast cancers overall. Triple-negative breast cancer is usually more aggressive, harder to treat, and more likely to come back (recur) than cancers that are hormone receptor-positive or HER2-positive.
