On December 2, 2020, my husband, and father to 4 amazing children was admitted to Providence Hospital in Portland Oregon with COVID. Alex has spent 10 long months in the hospital fighting for his life. When his heart and liver began to fail he was placed on an ECMO machine and dialysis. We didn't know if he would ever be able to breathe on his own, let alone make it out of the hospital. Needless to say, it's been a very long journey with many ups and downs. We weren't sure he was gonna pull through. But, Alex is a fighter! He has finally made it home yet he still has a very long way to go. The virus attacked his lungs leaving him in need of a lung transplant. He is on oxygen 24 hours a day -- which is very costly. He needs lots of additional care which are trying to navigate and figure out how to pay for it all. According to the doctors, he will need at least 6 months of care so, if you are in a position to give, we are hoping you can make a much-needed donation. We are a hard-working family, and asking for financial help is difficult for us. Alex would like nothing better than to get back to work and support his family as he did prior to becoming ill.
