Ahmed Aleem 30/03/1977 - 15/04/2022
A life lost too soon. Aleem dedicated all his life to the service of others; whether it was family, friends, community, or nation. He gave his all until he took his last breath on the 15/4/2022 to Cholangiocarcinoma.
Aleem's diagnosis came as a surprise to all including his GP. Aleem was the perfect picture of good health until January 2022. Fit, well, healthy, happy, and busy raising our two young daughters with me, who meant the absolute world to him. Our happily-ever-after was brought to hold with three days of abdominal pain, day three came in the Cancer diagnosis. No other signs or a hint also. In the three months that followed, four emergency admissions to the hospital, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and multiple appointments both local and International, while trying to make sense of this immense weight on our young family. Wishing, that time would stay still, to freeze the moment when we as a family of four would cuddle on the couch. Yet, we ran out of time too soon. We tried, we failed. He took his last breath amongst some of those who meant everything to him. He was loved dearly by many near and far. He will always be the guiding light for me and our beautiful daughters Aala and Ailee.
The legacy Aleem left behind; the gift of giving. Aleem gave his time, money, and love to everyone. Aleem was a devoted Muslim who contributed to building Masjids for as long as I have known him. Aleem regularly donated meals to those in need, his last donation was made on the 9th of April, 6 days prior to his passing. He would buy food for the homeless. He would never walk past a homeless person without giving money or food. He defined 'generous' in a different light for me.
My self and our kids, along with our extended family and friends would like to continue to give to our community to keep Aleem's legacy alive. This GoFundMe is created in the hope of raising funds to build a Masjid in Perth, Western Australia in his name to honour his charity work. Masjid Al-Aleem will serve as a place of worship for Muslims, a Madrasa to teach Quran, a shelter for the homeless and a soup kitchen for those in need.
I hope you will dig deep and contribute generously.
Thank you
Nabeela
