Currently our school has a great EYFS unit, taking children from 2 - 5 years old.
We would, however, love to make the outside area even better by creating a fabulous natural space for the children to enjoy.
In this area we are hoping to incorporate a living wall, water wall and sensory wall to enhance the children's learning.
Living walls are ideal features for small spaces, as they can bring to life an otherwise unused space. They can be planted with annuals, perennials, herbs or vegetables, providing a welcome splash of colour. Importantly our aim is to share with our children the mental health benefits of growing plants, allowing them to access a wide range of sensory experiences.
The most substantial cost of the project will be to provide a natural flooring to the area so the children will be able to enjoy the space all year round. We estimate the cost of this to be in the region of £3000.
We are hoping to achieve funding for 50% of this project ( ie £1500) from match-funding applications, however, we will be relying on community support for the rest of the money.
If you are able to help us with this project, we would be very, very grateful. It would be amazing to see this area transformed into a fabulous outdoor space for our incredible young people at the school to benefit from as soon as possible.
