Alberto & Gibrone’s families

Donation protected
My name is Brenden Elias, It is with great sadness that we announce the tragic, and unexpected passing of Alberto Calago, and Gibrone Cano. On Monday September 5th Alberto and Gibrone, along with three of their friends, set out to Fraser Lake to go fishing. Later that afternoon, the two men were canoeing on the lake when the winds picked up and their canoe capsized. Extensive search efforts were exhausted to locate Alberto and Gibrone, unfortunately we were only able to find a few of their belongings. Gibrone and Bert were close friends, and regularly spent time together in and outside of work, so it was no surprise to hear that they were out fishing together.
Alberto (“Bert”) was our first full-time team member at Precision Home and Yard. Bert was the most dedicated employee a company could ask for. From day one, Bert was excited to join our team, and be a “pioneer” (as he described it) of our company. Bert was a skilled employee, and an asset to our team. His expertise and abilities were growing rapidly everyday as he was appointed into a carpentry apprentice position.
Bert was far more than a phenomenal, hardworking employee; he was also a great friend, a supportive husband to his wife Charisma, and a loving father to his young son who had not yet been able to get to Canada. Something we will all take away from Bert is his infectious positive personality, and his optimistic view on life.
Gibrone arrived in Canada in September 2021, and within three days of his arrival he enthusiastically reached out to Precision Home and Yard via text, email, and phone to let us know he was going to be working with our company. While most people would apply and wait to hear back, Gibrone was adamant that he was starting as soon as possible as his wife, April, told him to get to work!
Gibrone immediately fit in and became part of the Precision Home and Yard family. Although Gibrone held qualifications that far exceeded his role with our company, he put dedication and enthusiasm into every task he performed. Gibrone continued to be a valuable part of our team until he moved on to a position in his qualified field as one of the team members of the landscape architecture group with Ecora. He was well known for his freehand sketching and a regular fixture at the Farmer’s Market where he showcased his artwork.”
Gibrone leaves behind his loving wife April, who is expecting their first child in the new year.
Alberto and Gibrone worked hard as the sole providers for their families. April and Charisma are full time students, furthering their education to pursue careers in Human Resources, and Social Work. The loss of Gibrone and Alberto was greatly unexpected and, in the days and weeks to come, April and Charisma will need our help and support as they try and heal from this tragedy. If you can help support these two families by donating and sharing this message with friends and family, hopefully we can ease some of the burdens during this difficult time of mourning. We thank you in advance for your generosity.
