Alaya McCormick

My name is Kim and I am lucky enough to be a friend of Anna-Marie McCormick.  Recently her 15 year old daughter Alaya found some  suspicious lumps. They immediately went to the doctors.  Tests were done right away,  a biopsy done, and an appointment down at the Vancouver children's hospital for more tests. It turns out Alaya has stage 3 or 4 Hodgkin Lymphoma. We will know in a few days how far it has progressed.  It is treatable,  but she has to miss the first month of school to be down to Vancouver for treatment.  She and her mom, Anna will be down there for a minimum of 4 weeks for chemo and radiation.  Alaya is an honour roll student and absolutely loves school. She is upset about missing work and school. (she works at burger king FSJ)  She loves sports and is very fit. She is involved in boxing and kickboxing so we know that she will kick this cancers ass! She is a very strong and determined girl!  I am starting this gofundme because Anna has to be there for her daughter and has to take a month off work MINIMUM.  Not being able to pay household bills and taking time off work and having extra costs like eating out every day in Vancouver is a worry she doesn't need to have. If you can help with anything.  Please do. I googled restaurants close to children's hospital and I see there is a subway  close by. gift certificates would work too.  or visa cards so she can walk to a few different locations and have a nice meal after being in the hospital all day.  They will not have a vehicle while they're there. Any help would be greatly appreciated for my friend and her daughter towards their journey to good health.  Please share!
