COVID 19 Alas De Agua Southside Art School

Donation protected
DUE TO THE CURRENT COVID 19 SITUATION. ALAS DE AGUA IS USING ANY FUNDS RAISED IN THE NEXT MONTHS TO GO DIRECTLY TOWARDS BIPOC AND LQTBQIA ARTISTS IN NEED.

We were in the middle of a fundraiser when covid 19 hit our community, we have been managing, even though everything we had been building for the last three years and personally over the last 20 years came to a screeching hault. But if you could donate $1 it will keep the fundraiser alive. If you donate anything else $10, $100, $1000 it's going to go directly to emergency covid 19 artists in the BIPOC , LGBTQIA Artist community that have not been able to access funds. If you saw what happened with small business covid 19 funds and corporations and banks. Accessing funds for bipoc and LGTBQIA folks has gone down the same rabbit hole with privileged individuals who  already are in front of the line accessing resources because they know the system. We want to get resources to folks that can't as readily access the system. All are donations are tax deductible through santa Fe dreamers who are our fiscal sponsor. Please consider donating a $1 to keep the fundraiser alive . Please consider donating more to help local santa Fe and new Mexico artists. www.alasdeagua.com . If you have other questions or want to help allocate resources on other ways please contact me at [email redacted]. primarily we need emergency funding. We will be then asking for funding for more sustainable projects in the midst of Covid 19. We at Alas de Agua want to #RespondNotReact to all the layers of what is happening. We want to look at short term and long term sustainable solutions. We are looking to access land both for future art projects but also urban farming and sustainable resource access and building for local and global infrastructures in this time of great change... All Are Welcome to Participate in A Plethora of Free and Low Cost Art Workshops and Events.  Alas De Agua Art Collective is a grassroots organization that has been servicing Santa Fe for 3 years now thanks to seed money from the Kindle Project and more recently Still Points Fund. Thanks to organizations such as Youthworks, we have had temporary homes. We have existed as other entities in Santa Fe for 10 years.  Now that we have managed to attain a rental unit we are expanding our services and need community support to provide sustainable community arts on Airport Road, currently the only service of its kind on the Southside.

The previous years have been generously funded by seed money from Kindle Project which allotted for  for community outreach, program coordination, art supplies and artists workshops.  Also Community donations private and public. People Power has sustained us and will continue to do so. Out of sheer love Israel Haros has put countless of volunteer hours to push this project forward. Along with that many volunteer hours from many of the Alas De Agua Art Collective Members and Volunteers like you. . Now the time has come to make this project a sustainable project for our Southside Families and Santa Fe community at large for those that have bared witness to what Alas De Agua Art Collective has brought. We are ushering in the next ten years of Community Arts on the Southside by creating sustainable budgets to continue to bring Art, Social Change, Healing and Inspiration. Art Saves Lives. If we meet our funding goals we can be open for several days in the week and catering to over 1,000 participants for the year. We are Creating Community Arts by Building with Community Members have lived here and have personal stake and roots to build here. This is how we approach this.  These $40,000 will go along way in implementing effective arts program without overhead cost. Our Fiscal Sponsors are Santa Fe Dreamers Project. All funds go there to insure all donations are tax deductible and properly managed. Then the bulk of funds are given directly to Artists to create projects. We believe in the models provided by The Kindle Project that go towards direct action, giving funds directly to Artists. Hence why our limited budge can go an extremely long way.
