Alana's Seminary Torah Study @ MRC

Donation protected
As you know, I am currently studying Torah full time at Midreshet Rachel v'Chaya seminary in Jerusalem and was planning to make aliyah this summer. However, the rug was pulled out from under me when some business arrangements desintegrated after I arrived and started school, so I'm left without the income that would have covered necessities like food and rent.

I am as faithful as ever that G-d wants me here in Israel now. I have changed plans to make aliyah immediately to get government benefits, but I'm told the process will take a couple months, at least. I would like to continue studying at seminary through July, because I feel this is what I need to come into my potential as a person and a Jew, and to gain the knowledge and inspiration I need to run a Torah-observant household.

I am humbled to stretch out my hand to you in my time of need. If you are moved to help, even with just $18 , it would make such a difference.  The funds from this account will go toward necessities like food and rent.

If you know any people who would be interested in sharing the merit of my learning as the Zevulun to my Issachar by helping sponsor my Torah study through July, please feel free to forward them the link to this page, or to my Midreshet Rachel v'Chaya My-36 page, 100% of which goes directly into my personal MRC tuition account.

A taste of what I've learned at MRC so far:

-Text skills which allow me to be able to figure out about 12 out of every 13 words of Chumash or Navi with a dictionary but without outside help.  Before I arrived I could read Hebrew but had no translation abililty whatsoever and could not use a Hebrew dictionary, but for a doorstop!

-How to read and write Hebrew script and Rashi script (total Greek to me before arriving)

-That the closer one comes to G-d through d'veikut (the purpose of creation), the more clear the difference between truth/right and falsehood/wrong becomes.

-That treating others properly is vital to learning how to treat G-d properly and you cannot have the latter without the former.

-That Tshuva is a miracle worth every  ounce of effort.

-The d'at (experiential aspect of knowledge) of the idea that every aspect of every mitzvah, tefilah, word of text is significant far beyond imagination.  (Before I had the chochma/information and binah/understanding of this idea.)  You can always go deeper and every layer will blow your mind.

-The above-mentioned significance is always to teach us how to be a better person.

-Countless ways in which Jewish women are heroes that make the Torah world go round!
