Alana & Andrew's medical fund

Donation protected
In July 2017 Andrew was diagnosed with Acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), a type of cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow.  Andrew was showing no signs or symptoms of having the disease and only through seeking medical treatment for a metal splinter in his finger did they discover that he had AML.

In a matter of moments, life as they knew it no longer existed.  They went into survival mode.

Andrew has spent the best part of eight months constrained to a hospital bed. He has endured four rounds of chemotherapy with his fifth scheduled this month. He was due to undergo a life-saving bone marrow transplant this January however Andrew became ill with pneumonia which postponed any surgery until his body was strong enough to fight the infection. This has not been rescheduled at current.
Andrew's treatment will now carry into 2019.

Andrew has not been able to generate an income since being diagnosed in July 2017. Financial uncertainty is causing a considerable amount of stress for a family that does not need any more mounted on their shoulders.
Unfortunately, government benefits don't even come close to the money Andrew was earning so in a time where Alana should be given the most liberties - she is having to continue working to generate the most amount of money she can earn to keep her family afloat.

To make matters worse, Alana and Andrew's home, which they are renting, has recently become a construction site due to a greedy landlord. In spite of their obvious unfortunate situation, the landlord is building a granny flat in their backyard which is occupying so much of what little time Alana has spare in between fulltime work, hospital visits and mum duties to Andrew's 13 year old son.
So they are now not only needing money for life in general but funds to be able to move Andrew to a more comfortable environment.

Alana and Andrew are deeply grateful for all the family and friends who have supported emotionally, physically and financially over this difficult period. Unfortunately there is no end in sight for the forseeable future.
As a friend of Alana's, it is extremely difficult to watch her and the people she loves suffer through this and sadly, doctors cannot even guarantee the success of the bone marrow transplant.

The funds would be going to this family of three to support them through their hardest time of their life which unfortunately, is going to get alot worse before it gets better.  With the understanding that the next 12 months for Andrew will be spent in-and-out hospital I have set the goal at $30,000.
