Alan Edwards Medical Fund

Alan Edwards was diagnosed with Glioblastoma, an incurable form of brain cancer, on Sep 16, 2016. On Sep 23, 2016, he had surgery to remove the brain tumor. 

After undergoing chemo, radiation, intravenous antibiotics, steroid treatments, blood transfusions, weekly doctor's visits, multiple ER visits and hospital stays for a year and a half, Alan's cancer reoccurred in early 2018. He was prescribed Avastin and after a few months the doctors added yet another chemo drug, but unfortunately his liver could not take the chemo so the treatment was stopped.  In a last ditch attempt to stop the cancer in early June he underwent a treatment called Cyber Knife, but it was unsuccessful and he continued to decline.

Alan endured the horrible side effects of the new drugs and radiation treatments for several months before making the incredibly brave decision to stop all treatments and enroll into hospice care. 

Alan's wife, Katy, other members of Alan's family and friends have been working around the clock to keep Alan comfortable at home. It is only a matter of time before Alan will require either an assisted living facility or full time nursing care at his home.

As long time members of the music community in the Seattle/Everett area, Alan and Katy have supported many causes such as victims of cancer, strokes and people who require medical attention but cannot afford it. They are always the first to step up to support fundraisers and they have contributed countless hours and money to charity groups.
