AL QAMAR - FIRST MADRASSA IN L’POOL

Assalamu Alaykum. My name is Hussain Anwar & I am a student doctor studying in Liverpool. I am also a part-time imaam at Liverpool Mosque + a teacher of the Holy Quran.
In liverpool, there is an approximate Muslim population of 35,000 people. Despite this, there is not a single madrassa or establishment in Liverpool that provides the muslim community with the basic knowledge of Islam or how to read the Quran.
For this reason, a few scholars have got together under the banner of Al Qamar Trust to buy a building next door to Liverpool Mosque, also known as Penny Lane Masjid. We, at Al Qamar, aim to establish the FIRST madrasa & Muslim Community centre in Liverpool.
Facilities will include Islamic educational teaching, a gym, a library, social activities and much more.
There are currently 150 students being taught by Al Qamar in the mosque prayer hall itself, however, due to the inadequate space and facility in the masjid, these students can not be accommodated.
Al Qamar has already raised £55,000 to purchase this building. An additional £450,000 is required to complete this project.
