Al Palmquist Memorial Fund

My dad was a man through whom the light of the Lord shone brightly…especially to the poor, hungry or homeless, the broken, the abused, the addicted and the hurting. We, his family, believe there is no better way to honor his memory than to help provide for the collegiate or other ministry training for any of Dad’s grandchildren who have sensed the call of God into ministry.

 

One of my dad’s favorite scripture passages is found in Isaiah 58. Verses 10-11 state, “…and if you spend yourself in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday. The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun scorched land…”

 

Al certainly spent his life on behalf of the hungry and oppressed and his light rose in the darkness, leading many to the Lord, the giver of the light of life, and we believe that light continues to shine in the lives of all whom he led to the Lord and all whom he was an example to, as we stay postured in surrender to God’s will…especially his children and grandchildren, whom he loved deeply and who carry his legacy on. We believe Dad would be thrilled to see his grandsons financially enabled to be trained in excellence as they move forward into the call of God on their lives.  

The amount requested in this fund represents one to two years training or education for one student, depending upon the school and any aid/scholarships obtained.
