Hello Everyone!
Many of you may remember earlier this summer, I was raising money for a school in Ghana. The mission is still on despite no longer raising money via the fashion show auction. Instead, I am launching a campaign to raise 4,000 for this school. Ambitious right? Well I was filling out the form and that was the goal that popped up on its own. I'm taking it as a sign from the universe. That being said, my goals are little more ambitious as well. I am hoping to not only provide enough cement and other materials for the renovations, but also a new playground set, and fair wage for all the people involved in building. I am going to Ghana in September (independently; none of the money from this fundraiser will go towards my travel or lodging there) and will document the process. Funds from the fundraiser will also employ a local Ghanaian videographer for the duration of the project; so you can all see in detail where your donations went every step of the way! This will also make it easier to raise money for causes like this in the future through advertising.
Were not doing this with grants or loans from the government. We aren't asking anyone for permission to do what we know is right. It doesn't take 501(c)(3)'s or Master Degrees to change the world...so lets do it!
I challenge everyone to give to and support this dream throughout the month of August (my birth month!)
