Akintola's Medical Recovery Fund

Donation protected

Dear Friends,

Our beloved friend and photojournalist Akintola Hanif needs our support. With respect for his privacy and the space he needs to recover, we are joining together to offer support to him and his family.

Whether Akintola is a long-time friend, colleague, mentor,  brother or your favorite PNC, he has touched many lives in a real and genuine way. It's a given we would support him in this way. Feel free to share your messages to him here.

He is extremely thankful for all the heartfelt donations we have received so far. Many thanks also to mentor and photographer, Jamel Shabazz who donated ten copies of his book "Pieces of a Man", and to photographers Colleen Gutwein and Manuel Acevedo who donated prints as thank you gifts to contributors.

All proceeds from this fundraiser will go to Akintola and assist with medical expenses and his immediate needs.

These are the  moments that count, when friendships and bonds formed over the years show up in full force.
We are confident Akintola will make a full recovery.

Carrie Stetler framed her support in a message with her donation profoundly:  "Akintola, your work and point-of-view as a photographer, curator, reporter, writer, editor and filmmaker are irreplaceable - and valuable not only in the present, but to future generations. Your talent at bringing together people from all walks of life, your gifts and energy as a leader, mentor, collaborator and friend are irreplaceable, too. We need to do everything we can to support you."

Agreed!

If you prefer to donate by check please contact us for more information.

He needs our love and support.  We can relay your messages to him directly. Let's respect the space he needs and support his healing.

Warmly,
fayemi shakur
