A Kidney for Lyn

A couple of years ago, Lyn was diagnosed with a kidney disease, which has progressed to End-Stage Renal Disease. This means that only 3% of her kidney is functioning and need to get a kidney transplant ASAP. Unfortunately, the average waiting period for a kidney donor in California is approximately 8-10 years. Her kidney does not have much time to be able to wait that long. Lyn and her family are exhausting all options and are looking for a potential matching donor.
Alternatively, Lyn has a couple of relatives and friends back in Manila, Philippines who signified their willingness to help. They are currently being evaluated. The family is praying fervently for this part of the process. Once a healthy match is found, Lyn’s transplantation must take place ASAP. Doing the transplantation in the Philippines is estimated to cost $40,000. Lyn’s health insurance would not cover any international medical expense.

It is no accident Lyn’s first name is Maria, because like Mother Mary, Lyn is a gift to her family and to every person she encounters. This includes the thousands of patients she took care of when she practiced dentistry in Manila, Philippines for over two decades until she immigrated to the United States. Lyn is a loving wife to Alex and a wonderful mother to her daughter, Aira. She is also like a second mom to her nephews and nieces. Those who know Lyn can attest how genuinely loving and selfless she is.
