"Beagley" needs immediate help!!

Our friend, "Beagley," needs immediate help. He needs a CT or MRI (ASAP) to determine the cause of his excruciating neck pain, which causes him to scream whenever he moves or puts any pressure on his right front limb. If he has intervertebral disk disease (IVDD), he will then need surgery. The success rate is pretty good in these dogs after surgery.
Beagley was found as a lonely stray -- stuck, standing helpless, in a swamp. A good samaritan carried him out and he was taken to animal control, where a limp was noticed and he was kept on pain medication for comfort. He was brought to us for euthanasia when his "stray hold" was up. One look at this little man (sad, scared and limping), and we knew we needed to help him. Since Beagley didn't have a family of his own to make loving, difficult decisions for him, he became the newest member of our Tuff Start Rescue Family. After lots of TLC, pain medication and LOVE, the sad/hopeless little Beagle we met the day we rescued him quickly emerged into a typical happy, howling, tail-wiggling Beagle! :) We absolutely adore our new friend, Beagley.
We discovered quickly that Beagley had more than just a slight limp on his right front limb, as he began to have problems moving his neck. Medications have lessened his pain a bit, but he is in desperate need of a CT or MRI, so we know what Beagley is dealing with, and then we can make plans to get him the help he so deserves.
Yes, Beagley is an older rescue dog (approximately 8-9 years old is our best guess?). Yes, euthanasia would be the obvious answer for an older, stray rescue dog with an expensive medical condition. Yes, some people may think we are crazy. BUT, we are Beagley's family now and because there are so many people who care about him, we will work together to provide him with what he needs. Right now, Beagley needs advanced imaging to decide if he has something that is even fixable. This will be expensive. This will be the most expensive endeavor our rescue has ever embarked. We will rely heavily, and entirely, on donations from those with hearts as big as ours - for a sad little forgotten stray, stuck in a swamp, with no hope in the world.
Please help us, HELP BEAGLEY, so he can hopefully live a pain-free, happy, howling, typical Beagle life someday. He will be forever grateful. <3
